Shitbox Rally
Where: Brisbane to Darwin.
When: May 19-25 (2018)
The Shitbox Rally is back! This incredibly popular event keeps growing every year, raising more and more money for cancer research. The challenge? Drive a car worth less than $1000, 3800 km’s from Brisbane to Darwin. The ultimate goal? Fundraise as much money for cancer research as possible, and survive whatever nature (and your crappy car) throws at you! Find out more here.
Kidney Kar Rally
Where: Goulburn to Queanbeyan.
When: August 3-11 (2018)
Kidney Kar rally celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and it’s sure to be a challenging event! Lasting eight days, the rally will see participants driving 4000 km’s from Goulburn to Queanbeyan, via Ballarat. The route will involve roads through private properties and national parks for a truly exclusive experience. The rally is a competition, with results recorded on time-distance averages, but is open to any type of vehicle and you can choose your difficulty level. All proceeds go to Kidney Health Australia, for important initiatives such as Kidney Kids Camps and Kidney Kids Capers.
Great Endeavour Rally: Southern Safari
Where: Gold Coast to Yamba.
When: June 15-23 (2018)
The Great Endeavour Rally is an eight-day event, taking participants to some of Australia’s most breathtaking scenery and remote villages. You can choose between two courses; one suitable for on-road vehicles and another for the hardcore four-wheel drivers out there! You’ll be required to raise a minimum of $3300 for the Endeavour Foundation. This not-for-profit organisation assists people living with disability to gain access to better job opportunities and lead more inclusive lives within their community.
Road Boss Rally
Where: Brisbane to Booligal (2018)
When: July 9-18.The Road Boss Rally is a nine-day event, taking participants through the Victorian desert and Mallee Country. The rally has a longstanding partnership with the charity GIVIT, which provides the exact goods that thousands of Australian charities require to assist people in need. GIVIT supports local charities in giving homeless and disadvantaged people what they need when they need it. Each team is required to raise a minimum of $1000 for GIVIT before the rally, though higher donations are happily received! The event sees mostly older cars with a lot of personality, but any vehicle that can run on outback roads is eligible to apply.
